Baxter's Story Chapter One

Chapter One

I came too in a dark room with no bed or other stuff. I couldn't tell if it is day time or night time. I tried to stand up and almost collapse when I lost my balance but I mange to hold onto the wall until I gain my strength. I started to walk around to get a bit stronger. I notice there are no windows near my level only really high up; the only window is the door where I can look out. When I do I hardly can see anything very important. I try to think what happen to me the few past hours; I can't tell if it is the same day or a different day. I started to walk around the room to get some exercise and to wake up my legs up for a bit. On the tenth lap I notice some eyes looking in. "Stand back and try not to run."Said the voice. I moved over to the other of the room. I still feel the elixirs, once I am standing over near the far wall the door opens and a guard brings me some food. He puts it down on the ground and backs up. "You can get the food."The guard said to me as I went to get the food. I notice there is no fork or knife to use so I had to use my hands instead. I didn't realize that I am that hungry. Once I am done eating I put the plate where I got it. I stand up and went back where I was standing. The guard takes the plate. "Change into the clothes that you were given."Said the guard. I see the clothes lying near where I was laying. I went over and change my clothes. They are not comfy at all; I didn't want to complain I didn't know what they will if I didn't follow orders.

"Give me your old clothes."Said the guard as I pick up my old clothes and gives it to the guard. The guard takes them. And he hands my old clothes to another guard outside. "What size of shoes do you wear?" He asks me as he notices I am tall and have a bigger feet than the others males here. I tell him what size I wear. He talks to the other guard. "You are lucky we have your size, take off your socks and shoes."Said the guard. I did what I was told and I handed him the socks and shoes. The other guard as he came back with the shoes and he tells me how the clothing works. "Do you understand?"He asks me. I nod my head yes as I put on the shoes. "You will be in here for another day or so. Once you are out. You will be given a chain around the ankle and wrist. Once the chains are on you can't take them off or try too. The people who will put them on will explain. What they do."The guard said as he leaves he closes the door and locks it. I collapse onto the ground wondering why we males get treated like this. I know I won't find the answer to any of my questions. I decide to lay down for awhile.

When I woke up the next time I notice there where another guard in the room. "Stay where you are."The guard said. I could tell he meant business as I notice the gun in his hands same with the others as well. They check my room before they came back to me. "Stand up."Said the same guard. I did what I was told. Once I was standing up they check me over. "The elixirs are out of his system."Said the same guard. I kept my silence as they were talking to each other. "You are going to follow us and no tricks."Said the same guard to me. I just nod my head yes as they lead me out of the hut. I notice there are more huts like mine as we stopped at another one. "Stop here."Said the same guard as he stops at one of the huts. The other guard points his gun at me so I will get the message. I didn't dare to move or try to talk. After awhile the first guard brings another male out of the hut. I could tell he is scared. I do admit I am scared as well. "Follow us again."Said the first guard as we follow them to another hut. It happens another three times. There are about five of us in the group each male is scared to death. I could tell one of them wants to run when he has the chance, if I could talk I would try to talk him out of it. I didn't dare try to talk in case they use the guns on me, and I knew I didn't want to die.

When he notices the guards not paying attention he bolted away from the group; the others males were surprised at this but didn't say anything nor I. One of the guards notices the movement and aims his gun at the male that took off and shot him a couple of times. He went down hard; I could tell he is unconscious. I also notice the guards are having a great aim with their weapons. "Baxter you will carry him to where we are going."Said the guard who shot him. I just nod my head yes as I went to get the male. I pick up him up and put him on my shoulders like a bag of potatoes. I went back to the group. "If anyone else tries that it will be punishment."Said the other guard as he motions us to follow him. Lucky for me I can handle his weight. It didn't take that long to get where we headed.

Once there the guard motions me to put him on the bed. I did what I was told after I lay him down I went back to where the others are standing. Few minutes later another door opens and a Doctor enters the room; I have no idea if it is the same Doctor or a different one. The Doctor notices the unconscious male on the bed. "What happen to him?"He asks the guards. They told him that he try to escape. "OK, chain him up against the wall I need him awake for this."Said the Doctor to the guards. "OK, you other males stand over near that wall." said the guard. We did what we were told as we watch them with the unconscious male. Once that is done they return to where they standing. He told us what the chains around our ankles and wrists are for, it is too technology for me to try to explain again. "Once I put the chains on I will put you in a hypnotic trance for awhile. I am going to put in new circuit you won't feel a thing. After while the circuit will die out and has to replace that will be an operation to remove them. Then I will bring you out of the trance and the guards will bring you to another room."Said the Doctor to us.

He calls the first male to come over. He does what he been told; he tells the male to bring out his arms so he can choose which wrist to put on the chain after the he pick the one he wanted he put on the chain; he made sure it is totally on tight but not too tight. He tells the male to sit down on the chair. He does what he been told; he does the same thing to the legs. After it is put on he puts the male in the trance he was telling us. He looks over the male to find a spot to put in the circuit. Once he did he injects it into the male. I notice the male didn't move or flinch when the needle went into the skin. I am glad we are in the trance when we get the needle. After the Doctor did that job he brings the male out of the trance. "Stay sitting I need to test the circuit."Said the Doctor as he turns on the machine. We notice him jump when the Doctor turn on the machine. "That was the low setting, if you try anything we use this to paralyze you or knock you out."Said the Doctor as he checks the male over. "You can stand up now."Said the Doctor to the male. He does what he was told."You other males stay here; Doctor you still can do your job." Said the guard as he takes the first male away. After awhile I was the last male standing expect for the unconscious one that is chain up on the wall. "Come over here."Said the Doctor to me. I went over to the Doctor is. "Raise your arms in front of you."Said the Doctor. I did what I was told; he checks my wrists over couple of times before he choose my left wrist. He puts on the chain around my wrist making sure it is tight but not too tight. "Sit down."He said to me; I sat down on the chair as he tells me to bring my feet in front of me; he checks them over before he choose the right ankle, he made sure it was on tight. "I want you to look into my eyes."He said as I look into his eyes; don't ask me what he said I was in trance so fast that I can't remember anything else; until he brought me out of the trance. "Stay sitting."He said to me. I didn't dare to move or try to stand up. I felt like really strong lightning bolts inside my body. I knew it was on the low setting but it sure hurt. I was glad it was over I felt my body relax. "You can take him now."Said the Doctor. "Follow me."Said the guard. I did what I was told he lead me into a different room; where I notice the other males are in the chairs which they are strapped into.

"Sit down."Said the guard to me; I did what I was told and sat down on an empty chair.

The guard straps me in the chair the same way as before. They put a neck brace around my head so I couldn't move in any direction. Once I was ready they hook us up with IV's. "The IV's will drip some elixirs that will help you remember the rules and guidelines, it will be repeating until you go into a trance, once you are in the trance you will be taken out of the room and asked to repeat the rules and guidelines, if you fail to remember the rules you be brought back here and redo until you know the rules. When you do able to read the rules and guidelines you will be taken to another room where you will learn the job is then you will put to sleep to place where you live with other males, they will tell you what the job is."Said the guard as he starts the IV's to each male. The elixir burns when I feel it. Someone started the film with the rules; once the elixir takes effects I watched the rules scroll over and over again. Same with the guidelines. I also notices the room is getting empty when the others males that gets into the trance. I notices some returns to redo the rules. I guess I went into the trance and a guard came over to check me over. They notice I am in the trance and they take off the IV and give me a shot to keep me in the state, they take off the straps and the neck brace. "Follow me."Said the guard.

I follow the guard into the room where they told me to stand near the wall. "Repeat the rules and guidelines."Ask the voice. I repeated the rules and guidelines with no problems. "Good, we will put you in a zombie elixir and we will bring you to the work area where we will knock you out. The other males will look after you until you are recovered. Do you understand?"The guard asks me. "Yes."I replied to him. "Good, he is ready."Said the guard to another one. I felt a needle in my arm and everything went fuzzy. I don't remember anything else after that. "He is in the state now."Said the guard as he notices my eyes are rolled up but still open as I swayed a bit. They grab my arms to help me to walk to where I am suppose to live from now on; once there they gave me a needle which knock me out. I heard this when I came around that I kept my eyes open in the zombie state until one of the other males noticed me that I was coming out of the zombie state but not the trance they were able to tell me to close my eyes so I could sleep until the elixirs left my system.
