 Chapter 3

 

The guards notice Alex is out of the trance. "You and Baxter can go back, but you need to help Baxter to walk."Said the guard to Alex. Alex looks at me noticing that I am unconscious. Alex gets up and helps me onto my feet, it is hard to walk when I am out cold, and Alex took all my weight. It doesn't take that long to get back to our area. Once the guard unlocks the door and we walk inside the locks the door and Deon went to help Alex with me. They lay me down and bath my head. "What happened?" Xuan ask Alex. Alex tells them. Yakov looks at me and notices that I am coming around. After a few minutes I awake but in a daze. Deon helps me to drink some water. "Don't try to talk just yet go back to sleep, you might not work tomorrow."Said Deon as I go back to sleep. I guess I slept soundly during the night and part of the day. I heard groaning near me. I got up and went to check on Cyan. After awhile he opens his eyes. I help him to drink some water before he spoke. "You went into the zombie elixir." I said to him "I sure don't remember going into it."Said Cyan. "You went under real fast."I said to him. "What happen when I was out cold?"Cyan asks me. I told him what Valin did and what the guards did to me and Alex. Cyan was surprised at this.

 

"I guess the guards thought I was still in pain from the volts. I still feel the after effects from it." I said. "It does awhile until the effects wear off."Said Cyan. We talk for awhile until the others show up. "How do you both feel?" Deon asks us. We tell them; any news about Valin?"I ask Alex. "Not yet, they made me show where we saw him hiding."Said Alex. "Baxter told me what he did. He will sure get someone killed or hurt really bad."Said Cyan. "I agree, the male that lives with him is in shock as well, they will get the worst of it."Said Xuan. "I don't believe tried it so soon after the other one."Said Yakov. Suddenly the door opens and the guards enter the room. "Everyone line up."Said the guard. We did what he asked and he motions us to follow him. I kept quiet to see what it is going on. We enter a room that I never seen before. The room has chairs line up with straps; it was the same kind of chairs that I was in when I was brought here.

 

I saw the Mistress and the Master there as well. "Cyan you are spared for this."Said the Master to Cyan. The guards motion him to a different area. "I want the others in the chairs."Said the Mistress. We did what was told once we are in the chairs the straps were placed on. Then a neck plate and a helmet put on. The Mistress explains what she wants as the guards put IV's in our arms, once that is done she starts the IV. She explains why they are doing this to us, which I won't repeat at all. Whatever the elixir is dripping into my arm is keeping my eyes open and looking at a screen. I realize it is from the other day when Valin talked to me when we had our meal the other day, and when he was hiding in the cart. After awhile she stopped that elixir and she put in another one. She explains what this one does as she tells the guards to take off the helmets off us. "This elixir will make you talk what Valin did, it will happen one at a time, once we get the information will knock you out, you won't able to work until the elixirs are out of your system. Cyan will look after you once we are done."Said the Mistress as she starts the new elixir.

 

"It will work fast, you won't able to blink or close your eyes until the first one has left your system yet, the guards can tell when you are in the trance."Said The Mistress. I notice the guards are walking around us; I feel the elixir taking effect. I hear the guards calling to the Mistress as the others went into the trance. I saw them near me until everything went fuzzy. I don't remember anything afterwards. I guess after we told what we know they knock us out. Cyan told us after we came around we had our eyes open. The guards took off the IV's and unstrapped us and they brought us back to our living area. Once there the guards put us on the ground and they leave. Cyan moves everyone away from the door way. He checks everyone over and he waits until we start coming around.

 

I was the last one to come around. "Whoa, that was weird."I said as I sat up. "I know, I don't remember anything at all."Said Alex. Cyan told us what happen to us. I was shock to hear this. "Did they find anymore?" I ask Cyan. "Yes from Deon,Xuan and Yakov. Valin went into the cart near them."Said Cyan. "I am guessing they will ask the other males as well."I said. Cyan nods his head yes. "Once he is caught he will be in so much trouble."Said Alex. "Will the males that he lives with will get into trouble as well?" I asked them. "Depends if they help him."Said Deon. "I don't think we will be working tomorrow."I said. "I agree not after the elixirs we had, we better go to sleep."Said Alex as he lies down, I follow as well and I had no problems going to sleep at all.

 

Next thing I knew I was shake awake by Yakov. "Time to get up."Said Yakov. As he notices I open my eyes. "What is it?"I asked as I sat up. "The guards want us to follow them again."Said Yakov. I stand up and followed Yakov were the others are standing. "Follow us."Said the guard. We did follow the order and follow them to a room. I notice the Master and the Mistress there. "We have located Valin. We are going to show you what happen if you try to escape."Said the Master as he turns on a light on a figure chained up on a wall. I notice it is Valin. They did something to him and he is unconscious. After awhile he turns off the light. "Do you understand?" Said the Mistress. We all nodded our heads yes. "You can bring them back to their living area."Said The Mistress as the guards motions us to follow them.

 

Once inside their hut they talk about Valin. "That is scary seeing him like that. He will get someone killed."I said to the others. "I agree, especially when he does it all the time."Said Yakov. "I wonder how long they will hold him like that."Said Cyan "Hard to say, I know I don't what to be in that place."Said Alex. "I agree, I wonder where they caught him."Said Deon. "Will they do something to the males that he lives with?"I ask them. "Yes if they helped him, no if they didn't. We will can tell when we go back to work."Said Xuan. Suddenly there is an announcement thru the speakers. "Everyone listen up, tomorrow there is an exercise for everyone. There is no work until this is done."Said the Mistress.

 

"Exercise for us or them practicing their skills?"I asked the others. "Both, they take one hut at a time into a field and we run trying not to get hit. It never happens once they know how we do the patterns they are able to knock us out. When we are out we will get exams as well. We come around back in our huts."Said Alex. "OK, will they use the sleeping elixir today?"I ask them. "No, they want us to be elixir free as well."Said Deon. "We also watch the other huts as well. Mostly for the new comers."Said Alex as he lies down. The others does the same thing I follow suit. I guess we all fallen asleep as well.

 

Next thing I knew I was shaken awake by Cyan. I nodded to him that I am awake and stand up. Cyan motions not to talk to follow him. I did what he motions to me and I follow him where the others are. "OK, follow us and no talking."Said the guard to us. We follow the guards to a sitting area. I recognize Valin's living males on the field. I heard a siren going off and I saw the male's runs different directions. After awhile I saw one of the males go down. While the others are running I see some guards to come and take the unconscious male away. After hours watching the other males running around it was our turn.

 

Once on the field, I hear the siren goes off and we run in different directions. I kept away from the others as they did the same thing as well. After awhile I notice Deon is down same with Yakov. I made sure to keep away from them so I won't trip over them. Few minutes later the others are down. I knew I won't able to last that much longer as I kept running until I felt a dart in my leg, somehow I was able to run until I felt another one that knock me out. The guards carry everyone to the exam room, where the Master and the Mistress are waiting. "How do you do?" The Master asks the guards.

 

The guards tell them all about the exercise. "So Baxter was a harder to knock out?"Asks the Master to the guard. "Yes, it could be his size he is a bit taller than the others. It had to take two darts to knock him out."Said the guard. "I want him exam him a little longer, keep him sedated for now, once the others are back tell them Baxter is still with us and they are not in trouble."Said the Master. "I understand, the Doctor is done with them, they are being put back to their huts."Said the guard. "Sounds good to me, you can go."Said the Mistress to the guards.

 

"You are thinking of something."Said the Master. "I am."Said the Mistress as she tells what her ideas are. "Do you think it will work?"The Master asks her. "I have no idea, I am going to talk to the Doctor to see if is possible."Said the Mistress as she leaves. After awhile she returns with a smile on her face. "By the look on your face it is good news."Said he Master. "Yes, it is. It is possible to do my ideas. The Doctor told me the first idea we should do first. It will take longer to do. He needs Baxter to be in the zombie state for make it work."Said The Mistress. "How do we get him to become a vampire?"Asks the Master. The Mistress tells him. "Let's wait until a week or so before we do it."Said The Master. "Good idea, the guards can bring Baxter back."Said the Mistress.

 

"Boy I hate those darts. They sting when they hit you with them."Said Cyan. "I agree as well. I am wondering why they kept Baxter for?"Said Yakov. "Hard to say; I didn't see him go down before any of us."Said Deon. They hear the door opens and they see the guards carrying me back into the hut. They put me down and they leave. Xuan and Alex move me to a safer area. "He is still unconscious. He must have a stronger dose or the Mistress wanted to check him over."Said Alex. "You could be right; at least we don't have to work tomorrow. I am going to lie down. I still feel the elixir."Said. Deon as he lies down. I guess during the night I was groaning a bit. Alex woke up and checks me over. He watched me until I open my eyes. "Don't talk yet, go back to sleep."Said Alex as I went back to sleep.

 

I guess I slept half of the morning away. Once I woke up I notice the others are still here. "When we go to the field we don't go to work for awhile."Said Alex as he notices me confused look. "I saw you guys went down before I did; it took two darts to knock me out. I sure don't remember anything else."I said. "It is a powerful elixir that they shoot into us."Said Cyan as the others nod in agreement.

 

I won't tell you anything else between the two weeks after the field, after we all recovered were went back to work. We did notice Valin is back; I could tell he is trying another escape plan. I also heard his roommates don't want to do anything with him at all; which I don't blame them. I would do the same thing as well. After we got back to our hut we talked about Valin. "I am surprised they are keeping him here after that escape the other week. I could tell his roommates sure don't want him near them."I said as I tell them what I saw at lunch. "I agree, they kept their distance as well." Said Cyan. "He is been looking for another escape route as well."I said to the others. I hear the door open to the hut and I notice the guards with the food.

 

We went to get the food and sit down to eat. We ate the food in silence; we put the trays back where got them. Once I stood up again I notice Xuan going into the zombie trance. "Here we go again."I heard Cyan said before I went into the zombie state as well. I don't remember anything afterwards. "It looks like Baxter is in the zombie trance as well."Said Yakov as he notices me and the same trance as Xuan. The guards enter the room and gives me and Xuan a needle to keep us in the state they help us walk to where they wants us.
