 Chapter 8

 

"What happen?"I ask the others. "I have no idea, I knew that beam is strong enough to hold the ceiling."Said Alex. "Unless someone cut part of it so it will fall."Said Xuan "Could be, do you think it could be Valin did it?"I ask them. "Hard to say. I am sure the guards will do a head count to see if we are in the hut."Said Alex. The door opens and the guards enters with the Master. "Your other roommates are in a coma for awhile so they will recover; tell me what happen."Said the Master. We told him what we saw after the ceiling collapse. Another guard enters and whispers in the Master ear for a few minutes then the guard leaves. "It seems Valin has escaped again during the ceiling collapse."Said the Master. Alex, Xuan and I were shock and surprised to hear about this. "There is no work until we figured this out."Said the Master as he leaves with the guards.

 "Somehow Valin escape when we are all helping the other to get freed from the beams."I said to the others. "I agree, I wonder what will happen to us from this."Said Xuan; I shrugged my shoulders. A week went by Deon, Cyan and Yakov are back with us. "What happen? I remember the ceiling falling down."Said Cyan. I told what happen to the ceiling and about Valin escaping during that accident. "There is no work until this is solved."I said. "It will be more work to clear it out now."Said Deon. "I agree, I am hoping we are not being punished for it."I said. "Same here, we are going to find out."Said Xuan as he spotted the guards entering the hut. "Follow us. "Said the guard; we line up and followed the guard to a room. "Enter the room and sit down in the chairs."Said the guard.

 We did what we were told; once we sat down in the chairs. There was a bright light. It was making me to watch it; during that some guards are putting straps on us to keep us in the chairs. Then I felt a head strap going on. After we are all strap in the light got turn off. I had to blink my eyes to clear out the stars. We hear the Mistress telling us what is going on. I was in shock to hear this. A guard puts a IV's in my arm and I am sure the others are getting the IV's as well. I have no idea how many we got in each arm. The Mistress tells us what it going on. She starts the elixir and I sure feel the elixir entering my arm. After awhile everything is really fuzzy and unfocused. We all started to mumble all at once; then we stop after awhile. "One at a time tell me what happen when the roof collapsed."Asks the Mistress to us.

 We did tell her what we saw and heard. "Is that all?"She ask us; we all said yes. "There is no work until we have found Valin, you can knock them out. "Said the Mistress to a guard as they knock us out one by one; everything went black. It was a couple of days before we came around. "I never felt so weird from that elixir."I said once I came around. "I agree I never felt that elixir before."Said Deon. "I am guessing they are finding if any one helped Valin escape or cut the support beam."Said Yakov. "We might not find out." Xuan said. We nodded out heads from his statement; the guards bring our breakfast we ate in silence. After we are done eating we put the plates back and the guards take them away. Different guards enter the hut; "follow us."Said the guard, we line up and follow the guard to a room.

 Once there we see the Master and the Mistress there. We kept quiet so they can talk. "I want you and the others to go thru the rubble to see what you can find, to make certain the beam has been cut."Said the Master to us. "Once you find it let the guards know."Said the Mistress. They motion the guards to bring us to the work area. "You are allowed to talk."Said the guard. We start going thru the rubble to find clues. After awhile we find the beam that was holding the ceiling up. "It has been cut half way so the weight of the ceiling would fall on top of us."I said to the others. The guards came over to look at it. "The others should of kept the ceiling up."Said Alex. "Unless they been cut like this one."I said. We kept looking for more beams.

 After awhile we have located all the beams with the same cut as the first one."How did they get cut? We are not allowed to have tools that cut wood."Said Cyan. We all shrugged our shoulders. "Is there any more beams?"Asks the guard. "No, that is everything."I said to the guard. "OK follow us."Said the guard as he leads us back to the hut; we enter and he closes and lock the door. We all sat down to take a breather. "Some how Valin was able to get hold of a saw or something to cut the beams."Said Xuan. "I agree, he must of sneak into the area where we work to do it."Deon said.

 The door opens and the guards enter. "Follow us."Said the guard, we got up and follow the guard to a room. We saw the Master there as well. "We are still looking for Valin, we are going to try a new zombie elixir on five of you to see if it works. If this zombie elixir works Valin will get it. If we find any one helped Valin will get it as well. I have no idea who not get the new zombie elixir. The person who doesn't get into the zombie elixir will look after the others."Said the Master. We were in shock to hear this but we kept quiet.

 "It will take a bit longer for the elixir to take effect and to wear off as well. Guards you can bring in the food."Said the Master as the guards bring in the food. They place the food near us. "You can start to eat."Said The Master. We take the plates and start eating the food, once we are done the guards takes away the plates. And gives us blood to wash it down. Once we drank the blood we start to walk around. "You are allowed to talk as well."Said the Mistress.

 "I wonder who won't go under the zombie elixir." Said Yakov. "Hard to say or what the effects that we will feel when we go under as well."I said as we continue walking. After two hours the zombie elixir takes effects. I started to feel woozy and dizzy. When I am walking I am swaying when I move; everything thing is going really blurry and out of focus. "Cyan check the others, look at their eyes to see if they are rolled up."Said the Master. Cyan checks the others. "Deon,Xuan,Yakov and Alex are in the zombie state, Baxter isn't there yet."Said Cyan as I am able to see Cyan a bit when he is close to me.

 The guards enter and gave the others a needle to keep them in the zombie elixir, once that is done they take them away expect for Cyan. A guard gave me a needle with a stronger dose of the zombie elixir. "Cyan watch Baxter until go goes into the zombie state and you might have to help him to walk around."Said the Master. I felt Cyan grab my arm to help me to walk, after awhile everything went black on me. Cyan notices my eyes rolled up and my head is rolling around. "He is in the zombie state, his eyes are rolled up now. "Said Cyan. "Good, he looks he is in deeper zombie state. "Said the Master. He motions to a guard to give me the finial needle to keep me under. Cyan had to hold me up and to help me walk back to our hut.

 Cyan helps me to lie down on the ground. "Keep an eye on them. It will take time for them to come around, they will walk around and mumble on and off. "Said the guard as he leaves. Cyan watches us for two weeks. The others are coming around expect for me. Once they are fully awake. "That felt weird I sure don't remember going into the zombie elixir."Said Alex. "It did take awhile to go under."Said Deon. "I didn't get it, I had to watch you when your eyes rolled up, and the guards gave you another shot to keep you in the zombie elixir. Baxter had trouble going under he had to get a stronger doze of the elixir, he will take awhile to come around."Said Cyan as he tell the others what happen to me. The others was shock to hear this. "I am sure once they find Valin he will be in this elixir for awhile. I am sure they can keep him in this state for while."Said Alex. "I agree. "Said Xuan. Couple of days went day before I came around. Once I was awake Cyan told me what happen. "Anything about Valin?"I ask the others. "Not yet. I am still thinking if Valin had helped escaping this time."Said Cyan.

 There wasn't too much going on for two weeks. I saw the guards opening the door and motions us to follow them. We line up and followed them to a room; we saw the Master and the Mistress there as well three guards that are tied up. "We found these guards that helped Valin to escape, you are going to watch them going into the zombie state and hopefully they can tell us where Valin is."Said The Master. I could tell the guards are tied up are scared to death. I also notice the other guards there as well; plus the other males from different huts as well. The Master gives the first guard the elixir, then the second and the last one. "Take them to the rooms."Said the Master to the other guards. They did what they were told; once they are in there they untie the guards and they leave.

 After awhile the zombie elixir takes effect on the captive guards. The other guards enter and give them the last elixir to keep them under. They help them to lie down on a stretcher. The Master follows them to a different room. "If any one tries to escape or any guards help them they will be punished, we still haven't located Valin, once we do he will be like them for awhile."Said the Mistress as she motions the other guards to bring us back to our huts.

 "Wow that was scary. Do you think they will know where Valin is?"I ask the others. "Hard to say; they might know or they not know."Said Cyan. "What will they do with those guards that helped Valin?"I asked. "They might make them like us and work in the tunnels. It might take awhile for them to forget what they used to be as well."Said Yakov. "Do you think we will get back to work this sitting around is getting a bit boring now."Said Deon. "I agree as well, here come supper."I said as I notice the door opening and the guards bringing in the food and blood. We ate in silence after we are done eating and drinking the blood. "Whoa, I am really sleepy."I said as I pass out as well as the others.
